So, I've never felt compelled to write a review of a book half way through, until now. However, this book has done it. I'm absolutely loving every page! Will still leave the stars until the end though ;-)
OK, if the characters Ty and Zane are addictive, I'm hooked! Two closeted FBI agents trying to come to terms with their own very complex relationship and feelings get put undercover as the clichéd, openly gay, married couple. Brilliant!!! The idea is a great twist to their relationship. It is fascinating to see how their undercover role has an effect on their private feelings for each other. The crime story for me at the moment is secondary, but still very well written and intriguing.
To top it all, Ty also has to play a British guy. So hilarious! Being British myself and having a number of American colleagues and close friends can just imagine it. When we are having good humoured ragging with each other and they try their British accents I just crease up with laughter. Also when I try my dismal American accent without attempting any regional variations it just has them splitting their sides too. So, I can hear every word Ty is speaking in his British accent while doing oral contortions trying to get his tongue around the very British diphthongs, rounded vowel sounds, voiced constants, not to mention intonation! But Ty being an FBI agent I'm sure he can pull it off ;-)
Anyway, lets see how things develop, but I can't imagine being disappointed at the moment!
